Just got home at 7:45

1)Clean apartment

2)Make my budget for the next two months

3)Add money to my subway/T-Money card

4)Buy shaving cream

5)Buy envelopes for above mentioned budget

6)Put in Work

7)Go to the gym for one hour

8)Study Korean for one hour

9)Play some Poker

10)Hopefully watch some of last Sundays football and download some of this weekends action

11)Look into options for next year.

12)Go back to work at 8:30 tomorrow for another full day. (Thank God I get off early on Thursdays)

I guess somewhere in there I need to eat and sleep. Uggg, SOOOO overrated.

Anyways, as you can see I have just been a little busy with stuff. I don’t have to do everything, but I would like to.

A few days ago Mario and I took our student Hyun-Su to hang out instead of teach a lesson. It was cool because the school and his Mom cleared it. He studies super hard everyday and I thought he needed a day to just relax and get some free talking practice.

We went and played some ping-pong. I ended up playing with this little kid that was pretty good while Mario and Hyun-Su played. It was fun.

We took some sweet action pictures of us playing.

After that we went to the gimbap place and ate some dinner. Overall it was nice to just chit chat with Hyun-Su. It’s sad that he doesn’t get the chance to do more things because he is always studying. The kids here really don’t get any time to develop fun hobbies or anything like that.

The next day there was a HUGE thunder storm. I don’t think I have ever heard thunder that close. Anyways. It was cool.

The next day I went for a hike. You can see some of the damage from the rain and wind. Lots of uprooted trees.

Even at the very TOP of the mountain the hiking places here have facilities and places to buy food. It’s pretty nice.

When I got to the top I found a helicopter pad that I had never seen. Pretty cool.

On the other side of the mountain it looks like they are building a massive new section of the city. It’s hard to tell but the area that is being constructed is huge.

I always bribe my kids to draw pictures of me. One picture for one sticker.

Tim and I went out to find some food. We ended up finding a beef stew place. It was really yummy. It tasted kind of like a pot roast with some good spice to it.

They had yummy twisted rice cakes inside.

It’s pretty obvious that this woman loves balls. I mean…. if your gonna openly advertise it…..

One of the kids drew this ghoulish monster and then said that it looked like my manager. ^^

The instructions were to add one short arm and one short arm to our class monster. Interesting…..

I find all sorts of random things in the teachers guides. These sheep, as well as myself, are confused about what is going on.

Anyways, It’s Friday night. Gotta get ready to go out for dinner and drinks with some friends. Adios!

Posts are up to one hundred a day people. Makes me feel great. Recommend the blog to check out if they are bored at work and wanna look at some pictures.

1) Some day I will go home and it will be really hard to keep something serious. This in itself could be something we could have maybe gotten past.

2) We had a really hard time finding time to hang out with each other. We live far, I had work all week, and she was always busy. I would always want her to put her education and career before me so I in no way blame her. It just is very unnatural for me to see someone I am in a relationship with once a week or less.

Anyways, I had a great time with her and wouldn’t change anything for the world.

I am glad that we both could talk about it and make a decision to stop together. I am also glad that I really know that Miran knew I truly and deeply cared for her.

I am sad that I will most likely never talk to Miran or see her again. It is Korean culture to never be in contact after you break up. I hope I see her again some day.

Letter:

So Miran and I broke up today. It was really frustrating. For the past few days we have both been really negative. I really hate that feeling of being able to feel negativity. I think honestly we just kind of wound down after the honeymoon phase. I felt ok about the whole situation because we both like and respect each other. The reality was just too hard for us to overcome. The two problems were that Miran and I live about an hour apart. That was less of a problem for her, because here it is more normal for bf/gf to see each other about once a week. She was always really great to me and tried so hard to come visit me. We are just both busy and it’s far. It was just a bad situation. The other issue was the reality that someday I will have to leave. Who knows when, but eventually that thought just kind of caught up with us. Again, it was just a bad situation. I guess it is frustrating because we both knew these issues before we started and it’s hard to realize why they are bigger now. We both knew that these issues were around when we started out relationship, but that was just a though in our mine. Now the thoughts are actual struggles. Maybe it IS me being a little cowardly or weak, but I don’t think that things should always be a struggle in a relationship. I will always be frustrated because we both really liked each other a lot, and had great times with each other, but were just in the middle of a bad situation. Honestly I think that as I started liking Miran more and more, and we started getting more attached, the reality that I would soon be ripped away set in. I felt kind of cowardly for a moment today, but then I realized what was really going on. At this point in my life, if I was going to be with a great girl like Miran, in this particular situation, I would have to make a huge life decision. I would really have to decide what I want to do for the next years of my life. I am not cowardly (I admit I was a bit scared of how hard it would be to leave a great girl after 7 months of getting to know her) for not trying to make it work, but I am in reality, not an adult. Sure, I am dependent, confident, and mature in how I act… but I am not ready to be a serious adult yet and make those kinds of decisions. I am not ready to make mature life decisions that will affect not only myself, but a relationship with a girl I really care about. I was really upset when we discussed if we could ever talk again. Sadly Miran said that she really didn’t think she would be comfortable with that. That really hurt me but I can totally understand. I got really emotional but I think that we both did a really good job being realistic about the fact that we needed to break up even if we didn’t want to. Overall I think I did the right thing. I really think that she understood what I meant when I said that it was not a decision I wanted to make, but one I felt like I needed to make for both of us. We both had a great time in our relationship. I don’t have any regrets about anything. I will always care about Miran a lot and I will cherish the fond memories I had with her. Goodbye Miran. I will miss you.

Such is life. We all know the feelings surrounding breaking up with someone, or being broken up with. They are not nice, they really suck, they make you want to cry sometimes, but at the same time sometimes they are just needed fix yourself a little. All you can do is learn from these feelings and move on.

P.S.    I am ALMOST caught up with these blogs and I am very happy. It is hard to write some of the more emotional ones a few weeks after they happened. Can’t wait to catch up. Cheers!
